It's Cat6000 specific, but the commands work under the 4000. Is your
cabling cat5? At one time, I thought cat5 was need for inline power.

Chuck,

Sorry about being nasty, am just very frustrated about this problem. This is
my show env all:

Total Inline Power Available: 1632.00 Watts (32.00 Amps @51V)
Total Inline Power Drawn From the System: 0 Watt
Remaining Inline Power in the System: 1632.00 Watts (32.00 Amps @51V)
Default Inline Power allocation per port: 12.500 Watts (0.24 Amps @51V)

 Module Inline Power Allocated(mA)
 ------ --------------------------
  1 0
  2 0
  3 0
  4 0

Power Budget is : 2 supplies
Power Available to the System: 750 Watts (62.06 Amps @12V)
Power Drawn from the System: 315 Watts (26.03 Amps @12V)
Remaining Power: 435 Watts (36.03 Amps @12V)

The phones seem to try to startup, as I can hear a bit of popping on the
speaker. The relay clicks back and forth trying to engage the power, but
never quite makes it.

Regards,

Simon.

Simon,

You're bound to get more help from people if you're polite. Anyway,
do a 'sh env power', see if there's any power available:

Total Inline Power Available: 0 Watt
Total Inline Power Drawn From the System: 0 Watt
Remaining Inline Power in the System: 0 Watt
Default Inline Power allocation per port: 6.00 Watts (0.11 Amps @51V)

 Module Inline Power Allocated(mA)
 ------ --------------------------
  1 0
  2 0
  3 0

How much power do the phones draw?

I was expecting a dumb answer like that.... If you read my mail properly,
you will notice that I have the external DC power shelf.

Simon,

Just having the inline power module doesn't mean it has the inline
power. To enable in-line power on the 4006, you must have the Catalyst
4000 Auxiliary DC Power Shelf and at least two power supplies
