When the routers establish adjacency with each other this is one of the factors (mtu) that must match. The same also goes for hello timer, subnet mask, and etc...

Can someone help me with the following..
When would a mis matching MTU effect ospf, or how would the situation like
this manifest itself. Its part of a lab I am working on, and it asks to
ensure that a mismatching MTU doesn't effect ospf..
I found a command under ospf to tell its to ignore this, but I don't
undestand where the problem arises.
Any help appreciated.
Kind regards.
