Paul,
I saw this happen in NMC-1 class. The 2500 series token ring
interfaces default to a 4 kb MTU at 16 mb ring speed, but the 2600 and up
default to 18 kb. OSPF will complain about it and you'll see retransmission
errors. Possibly interfacing to another brand router might have an MTU
mismatch.

Hello,
Can someone help me with the following..
When would a mis matching MTU effect ospf, or how would the situation like
this manifest itself. Its part of a lab I am working on, and it asks to
ensure that a mismatching MTU doesn't effect ospf..
I found a command under ospf to tell its to ignore this, but I don't
undestand where the problem arises.
Any help appreciated.
Kind regards.
