Paul,

Like you said, everyone has different learning pattern and various
networking background. But, ere is my take on the CCIE preparation:
First off, the candidate should have a couple of years real life hands-on
networking experience, at least, 2 years is minimum.
It took me 2 and a half years of time in total to study, practice and get

my number, during which I booked about 750 hours of lab time.

At the same time, I also spent lots of hours reading a large variety of

books and references, which has summed up to about 1250 hours.

CCO is the place I frequent, and I have almost read all the documents on

it. Under the IOS 12.1 section, I just went over it page by page a couple

of times.

Over the course, I have collected and studied the books that are most

helpful and recommended for CCIE preparation:

Caslow & Pavlichenko

Cisco CCIE Lab Practice Kit, Satterlee & Hutnik

Anyone tell me the amount of hours required spent in lab before attempting
the ccie lab.

I know every person is different, but different peoples experiences and
comments would be helpful..

How do you know wheb you are ready., taking into consideration you can't
know everything about everything.

Kind regards
Paul.
