Try adding the command to both routers,
ip rip send version 2
ip rip receive version 2

Subject: RIP v2 authentication
All,
I'm trying to use RIP v2 MD5 authentication and cannot seem to get
it to work. I'm doing one of the FatKid labs and I've matched the RIP
configuration that they list, but I continuously get the "invalid
authentication" message when debugging RIP. I've got version 2
specified on both routers, and have the "ip rip auth mode md5" and "ip
rip auth key test" commands on the two joining interfaces, and I've got
identical key-chains configured on both routers....Am I missing
anything? I've even tried plain-text authentication and can't make it
work. Thanks.
