Here is what I've seen working on an 806 connected to AT&T cable service:
hostname cisco806
interface Ethernet1
description CABLE_MODEM
ip address dhcp client-id Ethernet1 hostname cisco806
ip nat outside
The trick is the hostname tag... For some reason, AT&T's DHCP doesn't work
without it.
