Cisco IOS 12.2 DHCP client and cable modem

Hello group,

I am trying configure an Ethernet interface as DHCP client to a cable modem
by connecting the interface with a straight through cable to the Ethernet
interface of the cable modem. But it cannot grape the ip information from
the cable modem. The Ethernet interface work fine with any DHCP server such
as another cisco router or windows NT server. I turned the debug on and it
sends DHCP requests but no DHCP offers coming from the cable modem. I know
some of the member in this group got it to work. Any idea in getting this to
work. Thanks.
