Question on RIP

Hai group ,
        i was working on RIP between two routers r1-r2 . Suppose r1 is
sending an route to r2 with a metric 5 , i want r2 to install it as metric
3 . Offset-list is the command used to manipulate metric. But by defaults it
adds that metric to the route what it receives. Can any one tell how to
subract that metric and install it on the local routing table.
