Some of the common reasons for that error on my switches: One end set to
10Mbps and the other 100Mbps. Mismatched VLANs. Media converter with dip
switches set incorrectly or incorrect voltage. Trunked to a switch in
another domain, some of the same VLAN numbers, but with different
addressing.
