ip route [name] option

Hello, everyone. Is anyone out there aware of the function of the
"name" option on an IP route?

Syntax: ip route 1.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 2.2.2.2 name OutThere

Is it simply a comment option like access-list remarks (I'm hoping so),
or is it a form of authentication (next hop router's hostname must match
the "name" in the command), or some other function that I'm missing?
