Hi guys

This isdn link is only have Ip running on it. The Ipx over ip tunnel
definately is an ip traffic. In this scenario, no cdp, no ipx and no dlsw
running through it or even any routing protocol. Most of the people I asked
said that just ignore that sentence but I seriously think that it is a trick
where I have do something on it.

I'm thinking of using an access-list 200 and permit 0707(IP) only on both
bri interfaces.

There are no solution given in the test lab question.

Any ideal?

Thanks.

Best regards,

William

Folks,

Last night when i am thinking this question, i have confused too much. If
the question tell me "ONLY IP", what should i do for solution?

- CDP is ok
- But what about other traffics like SNA? We are using ip encapsulation with
DLSW for this traffic type but there is no ip in this connection. Should we
think as an IP?
- What about IPX? if we are using IPX over IP tunnel, should we think as an
IP?

Regards,

Abidin.

Hi Will,

This question seems tricky,Is there any DLSW or IPX configuration in your
practice lab? I think you should think about these topics..and use some
"deny filters" in your BRI interfaces, not only in the dialer-list.If you
use permit IP, you can filter IPX but what about DLSW? Because it is using
tcp port 2065 and IP is including tcp 2065.

Any idea??

Abidin.

Subject: IP Expert ISDN Question

Dear all CCIE and 2b

I have come across this question in my test lab which say that:

"Make sure only IP is allowed when the ISDN line is up".

What does it mean?

The Bri0 interface only have ip address and there are no any routing
protocol running on it. Should I use any access list to allow only IP or
what should I do?
Or use an access list 200 to permit 0707 (07 ---> IP) only?

Please help me to clear my "congested" mind.

Thanks.

Best regards,

William
