i have never tried it..so did you try just xmodem: rather than
xmodem:<filename>

Hello,

My switch is at the boot switch prompt, and I need to load the IOS back on
with the XMODEM command. Could someone be so kind to help me?

Here are my command and the error from the 3550:
switch: copy xmodem:c3550-i5q3l2-mz.121-9.EA1c.bin
flash:c3550-i5q3l2-mz.121-9.EA1c.bin
Begin the Xmodem or Xmodem-1K transfer now...
CCCxmodem:c3550-i5q3l2-mz.121-9.EA1c.bin: I/O error

**I'm sending the file with the sendfile command from hyperterminal...
