When has the CCIE certification EVER been about best practices. This job wants
"Best Practices
Network Certifications" but doesn't even allude to what those might be. I thin
k what there saying
is they want a guy that can put together a great network just using one routing
protocol. They
don't care if you can get a FLSM/VLSM thingee working, they want their network
to work well
(probably with a VLSM).
Hopefully the changes in the lab that are coming up will make it more real worl
d. I mean how many
networks have just one switch, and if they do just have one switch how often is
it a Cat 5000?
I'd apply anyway, Jake. It can't hurt. The real question is will they call yo
u back if you do have
a number AND lots of real world experience.
-Latter,
-Nate, CCIE #7911
