Johan,
I'm going to guess that this is a virtual-link authentication
problem again. Turn area 0 authentication off and see what happens. If
that doesn't help, post your configs.

Subject: RE: OSPF routes in database not in route table
Hi Brian
I am doing the same CiscoExpert LAB
However the problem I am having is that on R1 that is the stub area
I see OSPF lsa type 3 for network 150.1.222.0 for a second or two
after that I see the originating router age[3600] the route out of my
routing table
I do a sh ip ro ospf and the route is not there but it is in the OSPF
Database
Obviously if I turn off the Stub area then I see the route as a type 5
LSA
thanks
Johan

Ademola,
The reason that authentication is the problem is due to the
virtual link. If you configure area authentication, all links within
that area (that have adjacencies) must be authenticated. Furthermore,
since a virtual link *IS* area 0, the virtual link must be
authenticated. You may be asking yourself, why does R2 need to say area
0 authentication? Due to the virtual link, R2 is now an area 0 ABR.

Hi,
If you use authentication and something with the authentication
goes wrong, the routes are in the database but not in the routing table.
I would use per link autentication instead the hole area.
can you post your configs?
cheers
Louis

Subject: OSPF routes in database not in route table
Hi group,
Can there be any reason why a route existing in an OSPF database will
not
be installed in the route table?
While practicing Cyscoexeprt lab, I mad routers r2, r5 and r6 to have ip
ospf net non-broadcast and also configured there neighbors' addresses.
This
was all in the quest to modify the dead interval to 120seconds. But
apparently no ospf route was installed on r2 except for routes emanating
from r1. Could there be any reason for this?
