Ah, I see the point of confusion. The teardown threshold is referenced to
the bandwidth of the primary link only. What is measured and compared to the
reference is the moving average of the aggregate of the combined links.

So to clarify your example, when you say you want to drop the BRI when the
"traffic drops below 64K," we need to know if it's 64K across the aggregate
or roughly 64K through the primary interface only. If 64K across the
aggregate, then the _former_ of your two examples ('backup load 50 25')
would apply. The average data rate on the primary interface would be roughly
43K when the BRI drops.

If you meant roughly 64K through the primary when the BRI drops, then the
command would be more like 'backup load 50 38.' The simple ratio between the
primary and backup interfaces is 2:1, so you would want the line to drop
when the aggregate load is 96K, which is approximately 38% of 256K.
