Dj,

There is a practical limit to the number of /32 routes that can be present
and the upper limit is determined by resources such as memory. I do not have
an accurate number to give you though. A real world application of this
would be dial in users whose routes are redistributed into OSPF. Is this
similar to the scenario that you are working with?

Aggregation is always better in this case, however what you have stated is
doable.

Subject: RIP derived host routes on the backbone

I'm hoping someone can provide a reasonable answer to this question.

Suppose you have an ASBR which is redistributing statics and rip subnets
into
and OSPF
backbone, and someone wants your to redistribute host routes opposed to
subnets.

Would this be a bad thing for OSPF area 0 based on these routes not being
aggregated, or
can state that this would not be a terrible idea unless the number of host
routes are excessive?

Is there a limit to the number of host routes you can have present in the
routing table?

Thanks much.
