Try to understand why...

Router A knows that for going to 150.50.2.3 it has to dial 2000,
start ppp and there it goes.

Now Router B has the packet and has to reply. It needs to go to
150.50.2.2 and although it has a ppp link up with that address in
the other end, there is no map reflecting that. But it has a map
that says "talk to R2" but no way to dial :-(
(BTW, when you add the dial string to Router B, you will end up
with two ppp links up being used simplex, i.e., one way each)

What does authentication add ? That when authentication is in place,
Router B "knows" it is talking to R2 via that ppp link, so there is
no need to dial (also thanks to the "name" in the map).
