unfor, there is no rule of thumb. We here in Aus are slightly *worse* than
you guys, in that our contention ratio is 25:1. We tried to do the same for
xDSL users and had serious issues, so we made it to be 10:1 for corporate
users, 20:1 for home users. But for dialin, the acceptable ratio is 20:1 (or
25:1 in some parts of the world).
As there is no specified *formula* the best bet is to check with Cisco Best
Practice. Check up with your cisco SE.
