The broadcast keyword should have fixed this. I have set up EIGRP across
an ATM link myself. I would do a debug and see what traffic is coming
across the link. You should be able to see the EIGRP multicast/unicast
traffic coming across from the other side. The real question is. How is
the other side setup up?

If you do not see EIGRP traffic. Make sure the other side has the
network in their EIGRP process.

If you do see EIGRP traffic.

What is the EIGRP process number? Check to make sure you have the
correct one.

Do they have the mapping specifying the broadcast keyword on their ATM
link?

If not, do they use a static neighbor command?

Subject: Followup: EIGRP Adjacency across ATM Cloud

Buddies, Here we go:-

Steven,

(a). I did use the broadacst keyword (this was easy one :-) and I
believe
this would let the multicast EIGRP packets go across to the other end.
I did not use the passive command though.

The first try was on the Physical Interface and I then tried a
Point-to-point sub-interface with "broadcast" keyword

This made no difference.

Nick/Curtis,

(b). Used a "Neighbor" command and it should force EIGRP process to use
unicast hellos instead of Multicast.

Didn't work. Unfortunately, the Other end is not accessible at this
time.....you can understand that....

Andy,

I will do a lookup on this but I thought that the "broadcast" keyword
eliminates the need for explicit multicast address mapping... Am I
missing
out on stuff ???

Thanks a lot for you postings and once this is done, I have a few more
challenges...

I have an ATM attached local Router under my control ...

I now have the challenge of forming EIGRP adjacency with another Cisco
Router
across the service provider ATM Cloud.

 ---------

I discover PVC parameters using LMI.

I configure the VPI/VCI and map IP parameters.

Vow !!! I can ping the other end right away.

But no EIGRP adjacency in sight...... debug eigrp "x" does not bring
any
 clue...

What would you folks suggest ???

 Thanks,
