IP address for PPPoE

HI, everybody

    I am using a router was configed PPPoE access the ISP
through ADSL modem, But I don't know the ip address in the
two ether ports.
If I using the e0 to ADSL modem and e1 to LAN.

1, e0 will receive a IP address from ISP, by negotiation.
For the e1 I could config private address free,(for
example 192.168.1.254) right?

2, Should I do some routing protocol for the routing
between e0 and Lan?
