Option 1: the two NICs are addressed in different VLANs. Nothing special is
required on the switch ... just assign each port to their respective VLAN.

Option 2: Some servers can do Fast EtherChannel or Gigabit EtherChannel.
In that case, you would address both NICs the same and channel group the two
ports (e.g., "set port channel 2/1-2 on" [on Catalyst 5000/5500/6500] or
"port group 1" [on Catalyst 2900/3500]). If one NIC fails, the connection
stays up, just at a slower bandwidth.
