This is 9 month contract with a pay up to $70 (1099) or $60 (w2) an hour
possibly more if they are a super star.

The minimal
Education : B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering. M.S. is preferred.

Experience: At least 3 years DIRECT hands-on experience installing,
configuring, and supporting routers in a Cisco evironment. Basic experience
designing/architecting LANs and WANs. Thorough understanding of RIP and
OSPF. WAN experience should include work with frame relay and T1
technologies. Solid understanding of TCP/IP networking. Thorough
understanding of secure RAS environments and strategies for implementation
and maintenance. Understanding of internal and external security in a
networked environment. Excellent verbal and written, and presentation
skills. Experience in both internal DNS and Internet domain management.
Unix experience (Solaris). Experience working with network LAN/WAN
management software including HP OpenView and Ciscoworks.

Ability
to work in a team environment.Thorough understanding of Security and
Intrusion Detection. Experience with VLANS and custom VPNs. CCNA, CCNP and
any additional Cisco Certifications in the path of a CCIE.

Additional Skills Desired: Shell scripting, knowledge desirable, as well as
BMC Network Management Software.

Duties: This technical individual will install and maintain network-related
hardware and software based out of our San Jose offices. Responsibilities
will include installation, diagnostics, network tuning, and monitoring of
equipment. You will help install and maintain firewalls in association with
Internet services provided by the company, and assist in connecting
remote offices and individuals to the WAN. You will be working toward
implementing standards to improve overall efficiency, and documenting the
LAN and WAN architecture and policies. Challenges will include: Configuring,
installing, and maintaining Cisco routers. Assisting in the design and
implementation of new site connectivity as well as providing expertise on
Security and Intrusion Detection practices. Installing and maintaining RAS
connectivity equipment, including analog, ISDN, and DSL technologies.
Creating and tracking project plans and effectively communicating status to
management.
