AFAIK, the problem you are facing is the reason for the synchronization
mechanism in BGP. Every time you run with no sync (as you are doing,
otherwise R4 would not be using the BGP default) you have to make sure
that all possible transit routers run BGP (iBGP) which in turn
will solve the issue.

I don't think you can play with the next hop is OSPF, as in this case
is the next hop to the originating router for the external LSA (r4).
