A spid is only required if the isdn switch is configured to require
it unless you are using DMS-100 encapsulation. If the link works
without a spid then it should not be configured.

Subject: isdn spids or spuds

Ok group,

As a Brit we in the uk use basic-net3 and so I have never used SPIDs
before. I have seen lots of information on this subject including
this www.ahk.com/spids.html <http://www.ahk.com/spids.html>
But my question is this, I am now testing using basic-5ess switch and
we have been given only one SPID. If we enter no SPID the link seems
to work and if enter a SPID we get an error. Which solution is the
correct?

Thanks Rah
