Rah,
5ess does not use spids, that I have used.
There are some places in the US where the phone company uses a 5ess switch,
however, there is a National overlay they call it, in which you would use
basic-ni as the switch-type and you need spids.
Plain 5ess no spids.
Hope this answered your question and with a little extra thrown in for good
measure.
Take care...
-Jeff

Subject: isdn spids or spuds
Ok group,
As a Brit we in the uk use basic-net3 and so I have never used SPIDs before.
I have seen lots of information on this subject including this
www.ahk.com/spids.html <http://www.ahk.com/spids.html>
But my question is this, I am now testing using basic-5ess switch and we
have been given only one SPID.
If we enter no SPID the link seems to work and if enter a SPID we get an
error.
Which solution is the correct?
Thanks Rah
