Unfortunately token ring cables aren't just a 9 pin cable to an RJ-45. You
need a media converter(some passive electronics are involved) . Some of the
converters look like a RJ-45 to DB-9 connector but they aren't. The ones I
have for my hame lab are from Cabletron and the only marking are "TRMF 802.5
Media Filter", it has a small tan box with an RJ-45 plug on one side and a
short
cable with a 9-pin male on the other side. I got them off of ebay for about
$10ea.
