I agree with Yakout. Things are not good in Sydney (or rather Australia).
However they indeed seem to be *slightly* better than elsewhere. More people
*have* their jobs than elsewhere.

As far as the money is concerned, there isnt too much out here. Best I would
say 120K (tops... if you are not only a CCIE + tertiary Quals/and or heaps
of Experience). There may be more money in Contracts, but there are no
new/big contracts out there these days.

I think there is a limit of the amount of $$$ one can be paid in Aus. and
that limit would be pretty shallow compared to the US / Europe.
