18 months is correct according to the cisco.com/go/ccie. Your best bet is to go
ahead and schedule a date, imo. Having the date hanging over your head puts so
me pressure on, and if you feel you aren't ready you can always cancel 3 months
out.

Subject: CCIE written time limit?
I seem to remember reading that the CCIE written is good for 3 years. Where
you must make a first attempt in 18 months and then 1 attmept per year until
you pass or the 3 years is meet.
Does anyone know for sure if the 18 months on first attempt is correct or is
it a year only.
Thanks in advance
