rip summary-address only works for RIP Version 2 & when split horizon is disabl
ed on the interface.

Snip>

Autosummary will override the configured summary-address feature on a given int
erface except when both of the following conditions are true:

The configured interface summary-address and the IP address of the configured i
nterface share the same major network (the classful, nonsubnetted portion of th
e IP address).

Split horizon is not enabled on the interface.

-
Note If split horizon is enabled, neither an autosummary address nor the int
erface summary-address is advertised.

Hi guys, my environment is:

OSPF DOmain ----- S1 | R1 | Eth0 ------lan ----------eth1 | R2_backone_RIP_Ro
uter

R1:
interface s1
  ip address 138.1.26.1 255.255.255.0
  encap frame-relay....
 ...
!
Interface eth0
  ip add 155.100.1.1 255.255.255.240
  ip summary-address rip 138.1.0.0 255.255.255.240
!
Router Rip
  network 155.100.0.0
  no auto-summary

The problem is: the summary address for the major network in OSPF domain does
n't appear in the R2 RIP table, Does what may it to be wrong?

R2 rip routing is in default configuration....

thanks

Alex
