Well, a couple of things.. You will need to have HSRP running on all VLANS
that you want to have the ability to fail over on. Tell us a little more
about your hardware setup. Do you have 2 sup's in each switch? What VLAN do
you have your trunked interfaces in? How do you have your VLAN trunking
setup? Do you have all of your servers/clients dual-homed into both boxes?

We have implemented HSRP on our 6509's, but when we shutdown a VLAN
interface the failover works but you now can't ping the devices. Do you have
to have all VLANS listed on both swithces or a certain route added?
