Sam,
You need both, but get the ISDN simulator first (also a 4-port serial router
for Frame Relay). ISDN is tricky and you need plenty of practice with the
various routing protocols. You should work ISDN and Frame Relay into all
your scenarios from the beginning.
Switching is easy to learn later. But you should get a set-based switch
when you can. Switching will become more important as the Lab evolves over
the next year or two.
