It seems to me the ppp authentication chap callin command is specifically des
igned for interoperation with non-cisco routers. Since we are typically dealin
g with all Cisco equipment, what is its relevance? If I do a debug of ppp auth
entication while just one side has the command ppp authentication chap, the res
ult certainly looks to me like "one-way authentication". Why would I need the
callin command?
