Ajit,
You need analog phones + FXS cards on the 3640. You can config the 2
routers to do VoIP between the backtoback link.
analog phone ---> FXS-->3640 <-----serialbacktoback ---->3640<-- FXS
<--analog phone
You can run anything on the backbone (backtoback) connection. It can be
VoIP, VoFR, VoHDLC
However if you want to use IP phone, you need to connect it a ethernet
port that supports IP phone. [Eg Cat 4006 switches with in-line power
module].
