Pay an online lab to access their 3920. The configuration is very simple and a
couple of hours of configuration time is all you need. You will be really dis
apointed if you buy one of these. The cash outlay versus the knowledge gain is
not even close to providing satisfaction.

Subject: lab equipment related questions

Hi all,

My apology! I'm beating this topic to death. I know this information has
been posted many times, but I like to get more inputs on these issues. (My
wallet is feeling the pain after purchasing several routers and cables)

(1) Can I use a Catalyst 1600 TR switch instead of a 3900 to do most of lab
exercises?
(2) Somebody has suggested using Cat 2900 xl for LAN exercises, and I like
to know if 2900-xl-M will allow me to complete most lab exercises out there?

When I say lab exercises, I mean most in Solie's book! Thanks for your
help!

Thanks very much for your generous help!
