Right on. I was under the impression that authentication required the router
names referenced in the dialer maps to match regardless of the switch
platform. Could be wrong but thank you just the same.

I have found one other difference when using a 5ESS switch that does not
spids and a NI1 that needs spids. On a 5ESS switch when configuring a dialer
map statement the name must be a perfect match with the router name. If the
letter's cases are different the authentication will pass but pings will not
cross the link, debug shows an encapsulation failure. On a NI1 switch this
is different, the name is not case sensitive.

no there is no diffrence int the config at all
as long as u have the isdn swith type command
that does not require a spid u dont have to configur
the spid
all other command do not depend on this commands
