Well, this is more self explanatory.
Rack02R(config)#ipx routing 168.1.1
%Illegal IPX address - mac address is multicast on Ethernet0
As you know, the least significant bit of the first byte of a Ethernet mac add
ress(in canonical format) is Group/Individual bit(G/I).
If it's set to 1, it means "multicast". So "1" in 168 causes the trouble here.
The following examples are also illegal IPX addresses for the same reason.
Rack02R(config)#ipx routing 5568.1.1
%Illegal IPX address - mac address is multicast on Ethernet0
Rack02R(config)#ipx routing 1300.1.1
%Illegal IPX address - mac address is multicast on Ethernet0
Rack02R(config)#ipx routing 8935.1.1
%Illegal IPX address - mac address is multicast on Ethernet0
Rack02R(config)#
