I have got a 3500 Catalyst that has 48 10/100 ports and 2 gigabit uplink ports,
and runs IOS based
software. since I don't have Gbics for the uplink port, is there a way to confi
gure one of the 48
ports to be an uplink port that I want to hook up with a 3Com switch on a 10/10
0 port with a
regular cat5 cable? I beleive a crossover cat5 cable can just do it, but all I
got at hand are all
straightthrus. I've tried to configue the port as a trunk mode, but still could
n't get the link
LED on, I'm looking for an IOS command that change the port into an uplink port
. anyone could help?
