I think OSPF per interface authentication is introduced in 12.0(8) - Since
we are using 12.1 in the actual lab I guess per interface authentication is
allowed unless otherwise stated!

this helps when u want to a partial area of lets say for example area 0.
or u can autheticate 2 routers with different passwrod and 2 with different.
this give u more control over security.
