I believe both the 4000s and 6500s have hardware support for 4096 vlans.

matrix for all 3 Sup. Engines in the 4000 -- they all say 4096, but it does
say 'in a future software release' for the Sup. 3)

(release notes for C6K 6.1.1 says 4096 as well).
