Subject: Re: Frame-Relay Intf-type DCE
You still did not answer my question. I completely understand the layer
1
concept of DCE and DTE.
My question is -- in which scenario can someone use the Frame-relay
Intf-type DTE command ?
Frame-relay intf-type dte is default behaviour for all frame-relay
interfaces. You wouldn't use that command on a frame switch but rather
on the end device (obviously unnecessary as it is default). On the
frame switch you either use dce or nni intf-type depending on whether it
is connected to a router functioning as the endpoint of a vc or a
another frame switch.
