Manny,

For the labs in the Solie book, you need a lot more than just 3 or 4
routers. Below are the (5) labs in the book along with the hardware
requirements (and what I would use for the router it's requiring):

CCIE Practice Lab: Skynet
Equipment List (9 routers total):
1 FR Switch, 4 serial ports (2520)
1 Access-server, 8 sync, one ether (2509)
1 backbone router, 2 ether (2514)
2 lab routers, 1 ether, 2 serial (2501)
3 lab routers, 1 token, 2 serial (2502)
1 lab router, 2 ether, 1 token (4000, could substitute a 2513 and be
creative)

CCIE Practice Lab: Darth Reid
Equipment List (7 routers, 2 switches total):
1 FR Switch, 4 serial ports (2520)
1 Access-server, 8 sync, one ether (2509)
1 backbone router, 2 ether (2514)
2 lab routers, 1 ether, 1 isdn, 1 serial (2503)
2 lab routers, 1 ether, 1 token, 1 serial (2513)
Cat5k
Cat3900 TR

CCIE Practice Lab: The Lab, the Bad, the Ugly
Equipment List (7 routers, 1 switch total):
1 FR Switch, 4 serial ports (2520)
1 Access-server, 8 sync, one ether (2509)
2 lab routers, 1 ether, 1 isdn, 2 serial (2503)
2 lab routers, 1 token, 2 serial (2502)
1 lab router, 1 ether, 2 serial (2501)
Cat5k

* CCIE Practice Lab: The Enchilada
Equipment List (9 routers, 3 switches total):
1 FR Switch, 5 serial ports (2522)
1 Access-server, 10 async, one ether (2511)
2 voice lab routers, 1 ether, 1 serial, 1 FXS voice port (2610 w/ modules)
1 lab router, 1 token, 1 serial, 1 isdn (2504)
1 lab router, 1 token, 1 ether, 1 serial, 1 isdn (2613 w/ modules)
2 ATM lab routers, 1 ether, 1 ATM (3620 w/ modules)
1 lab router, 1 fastether, 1 serial (2620 w/ module)
Cat5k
Cat3900 TR
LS1010

* CCIE Practice Lab: The Unnamed Lab
Equipment List (10 routers, 3 switches total):
1 FR Switch, 3 serial ports (2520)
1 Access-server, 8 async, one ether (2509)
2 lab routers, 1 token, 1 ether, 1 isdn (2504)
2 lab routers, 1 token, 1 ether, 1 serial (2513)
2 lab routers, 1 ether, 1 serial (2501)
2 ATM lab routers, 1 ether, 1 ATM (3620 w/ modules)
Cat5k
Cat3900 TR
LS1010

thanks,
