All,
I am trying to understand what is the consensus about best practice design.
You have the following network
-------------------------------------------------
| AS 1 |
| |
| |
| R1 R2 |
| | | |
------+-----------------------------------+------
| |
| |
| |
| |
------+-----------------------------------+------
| | AS 2 | |
| | | |
| | Net Net | |
| R3--- 172.17/16 172.16/16------R4 |
| | / |
| | / |
| | / |
| IBGP| IBGP Peering / |
|Peer | /--------------------------/ |
| | / |
| | / |
| | / |
| R5----------------------------------R6 |
| Route Reflector IBGP Peering |
| |
-------------------------------------------------
All routers in AS 2 belong to OSPF Area 0
Network 172.17.0.0 /16 and network 172.16.0.0/16 are in OSPF Area 0 using
the network statement.
I want to advertise it to AS1 through both links setting the MED for traffic
to enter the AS in the closest point (e.g.. for net 172.16.0.0 should come
in using the R2-R4 link.
Design ONE.
You redistribute OSPF into BGP in R5 and then set the MED in R3 and R4.
Design TWO:
You redistribute the appropriate connected into BGP in R3 and R4 and set the
MED out.
Design THREE:
You redistribute OSPF both networks into R3 and R4 and set the MED out.
What do you guys think is more correct?
Thanks,
Best compliments,
Nuno Baico
