This refers to a part that is purchased as a "spare" or independently of the
chassis to which the part "belongs". e.g. I just ordered a 7507 with a
PA-MC-T3 card as a part of the chassis/RSP/VIP configuration. However if I
was to order just the PA by itself, I would order the part number: PA-MC-T3=
