This link provides a wonderful explanation. Thank You. However, there are
still a few points that I'm unclear on. How do you know that there is a TTL
bit and how do you know that it is set to 1. Also, the reason Doyle says
that it doesn't work is because a multipoint interface is treated like a LAN
interface and a point-to-point interface is treated like a point-to-point
link. IS-IS doesn't have a network command like OSPF does in order to change
this. Therefore the link on both ends must be the same. So according to
this, a hub which is multipoint with spokes that are point-to-point will not
work but if the interface types on both ends match there should be no
problems. But there are........
