i know ..i know but:

Since I Am only using ios 12.1 ...

this is the behavior of this ios .... I have tried this with all 3 2501
.....
and and all 2600 and a combination of 2500 and 2600

..in a hub and spoke scenario if you configure on the hub a distance
let's say 200 on s0.1
and you go to your spokes and configure plain neighbor statement
pointing to the hub.

example
spoke 1
neighbor 135.13.1.2

now do a show run on the spoke and this is what you will see
spoke 1
neighbor 135.13.1.2 priority 200

the spoke sees the priority of the hub and inserts in the running config
a priority ...by magic
no matter who comes up first the hub will be the DR ....I have tried it
again and again...

so this way is much simpler for me a least ....because just in case a
ISDN or some redundant link is there..
you want an election .....

please someone else try this ......I know it cant be my routers only
doing this ...
