I have one of these things. Just got it actually.
Mine has a flash card and I don't know if it runs without one but I am
guessing no.
You can connect to it using the DB9 and rollover cable. You must turn flow
control on the terminal software to NONE, that did it for me.
In regards to getting software I am not sure. I would look on Ebay and
contact the people that sell these offline to see if they have the flash
cards.
