This is my first time attempting configuration of a LS1010. I know that I don't
need to do that for the lab but just to test atm connectivity through it, I ne
ed configure a PVC or two.
In trying to configure a PVC on each atm interface, on the ls1010 I experienced
strange behavior. Hopefully someone can explain it, or maybe I am just delirio
us from study.
There are two interfaces on the ls1010, atm 0/1/0 and atm 0/1/1, each goes to a
router.
I go to atm 0/1/0 and type-
ls1010(config-if)# atm pvc 0 141 int atm 0/1/1 0 131
Then, if I do a "sh run", it says this-
interface ATM0/1/0
no atm auto-configuration
!
interface ATM0/1/1
no atm auto-configuration
atm pvc 0 131 interface ATM0/1/0 0 141
!
So, it reversed it and put it on the other interface? Why?
The strange thing is, it works. I only need the one PVC to talk through interfa
ce 0/1/0 to int 0/1/1 and back.
In the CCIE Practical Studies book, page 587, it show configuring PVCs on each
interface, like this-
interface ATM0/1/0
no atm auto-configuration
atm pvc 0 141 interface ATM0/1/1 0 131
!
interface ATM0/1/1
no atm auto-configuration
atm pvc 0 131 interface ATM0/1/0 0 141
!
Only, if I try to do that, I get-
%connection creation fails: vpi/vci has been used by other connections
Why the differences?
Thanks in advance for any help provided!
