Ravi,
I think u need to use inverse mask with the distance
command.Whe u see on router menu under distance cmd it
shows as "mask" but from what i understand seeing the
examples in Doyle and also under here its inverse
mask.

Even i was confused to begin with.Hope that
helps.Thats why ur address becomes 0.0.0.0 as it
coniders as "Dont care" and mask stays as it is.
