Subject: Re: Better luck next time...
I can offer you a study plan that will just about guarantee your
success. It
follows an axiom which I have observed throughout my life to great
success
in all areas; The easiest way to succeed is to clone the methods used by
successful people.
I will be taking my lab next month and by following in the footsteps of
the
majority of success stories along with adding some additional study
angles,
I will pass first time. Here's my plan(not in this order);
1) Read all the common books and step through the examples(labs), i.e.
doing
all the halabi labs.
2) Go through CCbootcamp labs twice (second time with no configs)
3) Go through IPexpert labs twice (second time with no configs)
4) Go through All-In-One Lab Study Guide - 115 labs
5) Go through all Cisco CIM labs.
6) Go through Witchita Labs
7) Go through NEW Cisco Press Practical Studies 70 Labs
8) Go through NEW Caslow CCIE Lab Workbook
9) Go through ECP1 workbook labs
10) Attend NetMasterClass by Caslow
11) Of course Read and Understand all important threads in this study
group
(actually trying out the scenarios/solutions is best).
12) Walk into Lab knowing 100% that you will pass because of solid
preparation. If you are not 100% and have any fuzzy areas, postpone
until
you are ready! Know how to do everything with NO FUZZY areas. I know
several
people personally who have taken the Lab and failed because they thought
they could pass with only a couple of weak spots! Most of these people
work
for Cisco!
The above takes for granted that you have 10 routers+, ISDN simulation,
and
a catalyst at the least. I have spent at least 600-700 hours of lab time
so
far, so an extra 300-400 hours in the next month (10-12 hours per day)
should just about do it.
Anyways, best wishes on your next attempt and look for my success post
next
month.
