Did you mean bridge priority? 8192 is just the priority the 'set spantree root'
command starts with, which by virtue of being lower than the default of 32768
attempts to make that particular switch the root. Unlike hard setting a bridge
priority, using this command allows the switch to continue to lower its priorit
y if it sees a lower priority in any BPDUs it receives.
